I am a psychologist with experience across a variety of settings, working with individuals and groups. I have worked with adults, adolescents, and children, working in the community, as well as in hospital and prison settings. I have experience in treating anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, chronic pain, grief, loss, eating disorders, personality disorders, and adjustment issues. I have assisted people dealing with family violence issues, and have worked with a variety of issues relating to addiction, including supporting carers. I have also assisted many patients adjusting to cancer diagnosis and treatment, and end of life issues.
I believe that positive outcomes come through self-awareness, and a deep sense of compassion and acceptance of oneself. I believe that psychological practice should be evidence-based, competent, and always guided by a sense of care and kindness. I also see great importance in working collaboratively with my clients.
I have extensive experience in a variety of meditation techniques, which I believe can be invaluable in the development of self-awareness and self-acceptance. I also have a degree in philosophy, which greatly informs my practice.
