I am often inspired by the resilience of my clients. That said, I’ve noticed that they often do not share my admiration and often struggle to clearly and accurately assess their own strength and worth. Instead, they often hold beliefs and stories about being worthless, useless or weak. It is my goal to help clients learn to respond constructively and empathically to their symptoms, unhook from patterns, beliefs and rules that no longer serve them well, and, commit to activities that create a life of meaning and value. I aim to help you learn the relevant skills and strategies in order to be who you want to be in life.
I primarily utilise Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in my work with clients but I have training and experience across several models. While the model of intervention is important, I have also sought specific training and conducted further research into anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, behavioural addictions, and relationship dynamics.
The initial step of making contact with a stranger to improve your life is often difficult. So many critical thoughts and uncomfortable emotions can get in the way of sharing your experience with others. If you manage it, trust that you’ll find a wealth of support, knowledge and assistance. But, more importantly, you’ll be certain to find someone who cares.
